Looking for gfx card upgrade..

hi, im wanting to upgrade my 1gb Palit 8800gt, i can run pretty good games like far cry 2, gta on almost max settings. I bought the 512mb zotac 9800gt from here a couple of months back which was worse then the 8800gt.

Im also having trouble with drivers and out of video memory problems with this card, im looking for something maybe like the 4870 or gtx 260. Either way it needs to be a minimum of 1gb, and a lot faster than this 8800gt.

Please reccomend a few, im hoping to spend around £150 although i appreciate what im asking for i should raise the bar to atleast £200.

Also which would be better, 4870, gtx 260 or other?

Nothing in it really between 4870 and 260gtx (216sp). I class them as high end cards, what with both of them having roughly 1gig of memory, near enough with 260.

ive seen the good offer for the 4870 1gb, ive always liked and used nvidia without ever wanting to go to ati, but after there 9800gt stunt being exactly the same im finding it difficult to par my money with them.

Im hoping to get abit more money together and i think get the 4870 card, if this offer expires (£164 i think it was) im just gonna have to hope another good one comes on soon after
