looking for good digital camera, point and click good focus

as the title says, im selling my spare evga 780i motherboard and putting some money towards a good spec digital camewrs, looking for really good close up focus, was goingto get a 400d but it is overkill for what i want really.
so spec me up

It's probably best to put up a budget and what you're mainly going to use it for if you want some meaningful recommendations.

up to 275 pound, with a little leeway

Canon G10 for another £90 or the Panny LX3 for £40 more.

At the moment you can't really do much better than those two.
