Hi Guys,

my first post here so hi all :) basically I'm looking for an upgrade for my PC it will be for gaming predominantly Battlefield 4 and I'm looking to spend around £100 but this could be pushed a little bit if necessary. A couple of my friends have suggested an SSD and i thought I would get the advice of "professionals" if you would give it to me :)

My Setup is.
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Processor 2.80GHz
4.00 GB RAM
Windows 7 64 Bit
AMD Radeon HD 6850
Asus M4A87TD EVO

If i have forgotten anything let me know.

And apologies for as I'm sure you may have guessed I am a bit new to custom PC's (a friend of mine pretty much set this one up for me about 3 years ago).

I saw previous post today where http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-036-CR&groupid=701&catid=2104 was suggested would this also be good for me?

Thanks in advance,
Joe.

An SSD will help with boot times and how "snappy" things feel in windows but it wont actually add an frames per second etc.

So if thats your issue then sell the 6850 and by a stronger gpu.

Thanks for the reply stulid would you have any suggestions? am i going to get anything decent in the £100-£150 range or should I wait a couple months and look for something a bit pricier?

With regard to a graphics card upgrade i have been looking at either of these two.

Is it worth spending the extra £50 on the 280X or would you advise otherwise?

Here is a benchmark for a R9 280 running BF4. The 280X is also in the graph.

Anyone shed some light for me? I have had a look around at some comparisons of the two on tomshardware and anandtech but not really sure? also not so sure if the first RAM I linked would work with my motherboard so i thought maybe this? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-000-AR&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517 blue Lights will go nicely with my system

If you like the Avexir Ram then here is a faster kit. The White LED's will also compliment any colour scheme.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Avexir Core White Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17200C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U21331104G-2CIW) - White Light £69.95
Total : £78.65 (includes shipping : £7.25).

Your board supports up to 2000MHz so the above would run at that speed.

thanks Lee appreciate that. Think ill go for your RAM suggestion and maybe wait a month or two to upgrade my GPU to get something a bit flashier :)
