Hello,
I am looking for some help with OCing this one. All what I did was change in bios settings to what is visible in pictures as well as manually clock ratio to 4.0Ghz. Right now for tests i changed it to 4.3. Everyone everywhere posts information regarding voltage and what not but I have everything on Auto. So far it was OK.

I would like to achieve 4.3? 'stable' as everyone says, but I never did that in 'new' uefi bioses etc. Last time I did OC was on 775 socket..
my cpu : i7 6850k
My mobo : x99 G1 Ultra Gaming Gigabyte
Cpu cooler : Noctua Nh-D14
Case : h2 silent classic
Psu : 650W Supernova P2
I 'tried' to look for tutorials but couldn't find for this combo of mobo + cpu but I managed to find only final outcome of OC + temps... What I am looking for is what should I disable, what should I enable, what should I change etc. Like a basic step by step. If any of you know of anything, would be great if you can post it here.
Thanks

Yes best read the guide that darket posted a link to. Good info there. Another good tutorial is the der8auer one here:

This is using an Asus board so you'll need to find out the Gigabyte equivalents for the options but shouldn't be to tough.

Thanks for this,

That is a lot information. I did read it all ready to takes notes and numbers. Mostly it is for 6950x which is a bit different t o 6850k. I know this is same socket etc but this is different CPU and I would prefer to not work around it by trying out different things. So I would like to ask you if there is any noob friendly tutorial.. What to set to what to reach desired things.

I mean I do have in my BIOS settings for upgrade 'i7 6850k OC @ 4.3 Ghz' but that does not change everything to 6850k preset but just change.. mode to that? everything is AUTO as you can see. I did change multiplier to 40 which gives me 4.0 Ghz and I am going to leave it as it is until i find some guide or total noob friendly tutorial i gues..

That guide is very relevant to the 6850k , if you looking for a 'set this multiplier, set this volts , hey presto your at 4.5ghz' well it doesn't work like that.

Every chip is different, for example while one 6850k might do 4.4 at sub 1.3v another 6850k might not pass 4.1 with any amount of volts.

Overcloking on x99 isn't noob friendly and should never be done on auto settings , Auto setting tend to overvolt so cpu input voltage, core voltage , SA voltage and ram voltage should all be set manually.

As a start you need to download HWinfo64 , and a stress test such as realbench. Then run the stress test and monitor the voltages and temps , the auto voltages at 4.3 will give an indication to what needs changing.

I think x99 is very noob friendly.

5930x 1.3 volts multiplier at 45 and of it popped no problems.

Now ive got a 5960x same thing but with 1.35 volts (for now) not change anything else.

OP just give it a go. Set the CPU volts to 1.35 and keep changing the multiplier
