Hi all. Ive quite fancied a laptop for a while now, got about £450 to spend would push to £500 if need be.

Looking to use it for multimedia, such as playing HD films, music, and downloading music, surfing the web etc?

Whats good at the moment? What about the Dell inspiron range? They have an offer on dell.co.uk at the moment, inspiron 17 nice big screen decent spec also for £450. Think i should jump at this as i dont know?

Thanks :)

I would say you'll be pushed to beat Dell for value for money. The Inspiron range can be custom specced, boost the memory up and you'll have a good, fast machine. Relatives have them and so far they have been reliable and are nice machines to use, the keyboards are good too. I'm thinking of buying one.

Hi thanks for your reply.

Yeah it does look good, its down from £615 at the moment to £449, but only till the 30th of December. I dont know if i should just take the plunge and buy? The specs are as follows:

Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T4300 (2.1GHz, 800MHz, 1MB cache)

Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit- English

17.3" WLED High Definition + (1600 x 900) TFT Display with TrueLife™
Intel Integrated GMA 4500MHD

4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x2048]

500GB (5400RPM) Serial ATA Hard Drive

DVD +/- RW Drive (read/write CD & DVD)

Comes with a good 4GB DDR 2 of dual channel memory so no need to go any better. The quality of Dell is good as well It really sounds like a little cracker for the price, should i go for this before its too late? As i tend to hesitate when it comes to spending.

Thanks

It looks like a nice machine, but don't feel in a rush IMO as Dell are continually coming out with good deals.
