Looking for MB and processor advice

I'm looking to replace my main board (hardware failure) and maybe processor as well, and was wondering what's the best value at the moment. Currently I have a Q6600 on a 680i SLI board, with a BFG GeForce 8800GTX and 600W PSU.

First: if I was to replace just the board, what's the best option available to me? What's the difference between the 775 chipsets?

Secondly: if I replaced both board and processor, what's the best I could get for around £200-250?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

I would think about just the board, The Q6600 is still ok imo and the gains going to a 955 would not be massive. Do you need SLI and are your OCing? If not have a look for a cheaper board to keep you going for a while until you need a full upgrade.

BTW I have no idea about 775 boards! They must be done and dusted though by now.
