Strange request I know but I am looking to buy a new unused Fuji Finepix s5000, I think the camera came out in 2003. Does anyone know where I might be able to pickup a new one? I have found plenty of used ones.

I had Fuji Finepix s5000 for years and took thousands of photos with it, I replaced it with a Canon 600D which is great but its just to heavy for me to carry around all the time, so I bought a Fujifilm FinePix HS30EXR but for me it isn't as good, I know there is probably something equally as good but I keep wanting to go back to the S5000 which was perfect for me, unfortunately it is literally falling apart!

I just wondered whether there maybe somewhere that sells old stock off

I can't find any new ones on eBay either. I suspect a new one would be very hard to find considering how old they are.

If you gave us some idea why the older S5000 is preferable to the HS30 then we might be able to suggest some alternatives. If not then just get a used one.

There is not really one thing it just that I am use and know I will be able to hit the ground running with it without having to discover any little nuances that a new camera brings.

I am aware that my other two camera are superior in every way, maybe I will need to look at used, its just I don't want something on its last legs when purchased.

Stop living in the past lol :P Ultimately you're only delaying the inevitable which is that you'll eventually need to buy a new camera when this one breaks or wears out or whatever. If the new one you purchased has flaws or limitations then go find another one that doesn't have those problems :) hehe It's all part of the challenge.

Failing that if you still want that old camera then I'm guessing second hand will be your only option :/

either just get a used one, or look towards a new camera, my mum has a nex5n and its small and pretty light, takes amazing pictures with no real effort, and does movies. and isnt ergonimicly horrible.

with the 18-55 lens + battery its only 33grams heavier than your fuji, but smaller :)

but you would probably be ok with a second hand lightly used/well looked after camera
