Recently my Coolermaster Cosmos sidepanel latch decided to give up and I am looking for a replacement case. I definitely don't want to buy another Cosmos as I was never really happy with it.
So I've been having a look around at cases which I feel may suit my needs, but as usual I am uncertain which to go for. I have narrowed it down to two cases but I am still open to suggestions on others.
First of all I picked the Lian Li PC-A05 B. The reason I like this case is it's small dimensions and quirky interior. Also it is well priced and would go along with my hardware like a treat. The problem comes when I want to upgrade. If I decide to crossfire two 4850's or buy a single 4870x2 I have a feeling the cooling will not be quite up to scratch. I am not opposed to a little case modding for blowholes to the top but I's rather avoid it if necessary. Also I would like a windowed side panel which I doubt will be easy to find so maybe someone can help me out there.
Onto the second case. The new Akasa Omega caught my eye when I first saw it announced at Cebit 2008. The interior literally blew me away. So few cases are designed with a heavy influence on the inner workings of the case which is a shame really. Externally the case isn't the most aesthetic case ever made, but for it's price point I didn't expect it to be. Like the aforementioned Lian Li the Omega is lacking a windowed sidepanel, but I did notice in another thread that OcUK stock the Eclipse sidepanel which should fit the Omega also. A huge selling point for me is the black powder coating inside and the spacious interior.
Any suggestions are welcome and feel free to suggest alternative cases that you feel may be suitable.
