will be playing
Tarkov
WoW
Lol
And other stuff
wanna get solid FPS in tarkov as currently I’m around 60ish

Looking at best value

Just be aware when talking tarkov, its very unoptimised at the moment and the cpu is the limiting factor. Clockspeed is king for now so even with a more powerful gpu your highs will be better but you will still get lots frame drops running a 1600.

I went from a 1700 at 3.8 to a stock 3700x and was a night and day difference in tarkov.

would a overclock help or would a new cpu be better? running a Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming 3 mobo and dont really wanna upgrade my entire system as i simply dont have the funds

An overclock would help a bit but ryzen does't really clock that much anyway. I run at 3440x1440 with a 1080ti, my 1700 was overclocked and I was running decent memory speed and timings but it just doesn't have the raw clockspeed to basically brute force tarkov. Some maps it will be ok like factory and woods. Shoreline it will struggle a lot more, just fluctuationg framerates, sometimes you'll be pushing say 80fps then all of a sudden it can dip into the low 40's depending on what part of the map you are on or whats happening on the map.

A 3600 would run it much better but i wouldn't really recommend upgrading based on one early access unoptimised game thats years away from full release especially if funds are tight. It still won't be a perfect experience it'll just be better. Its ultimately up to you on how much you value that game.

And I really love tarkov, one of my favourite games but it has so many issues at the moment with stutters here and there, server issues etc. Just has a long way to go, no matter what you are running in your system it just won't be the smoothest experience.

ahh ok cheers guys, will my mobo take a 3700 or is it gonna be a full upgrad? I am thinking of upgrading my whole system, my gpu is the oldest part which is why i am looking at that first.
