Hey, I'm looking for a new MP3 player and have some features that need covering:

- At least 30-40 gig HD, I like a lot of music.

- I don't mind it playing video, this would be useful, but I don't want a big breakable shiny screen - the iPod 80gig is a perfect example of the size and construction I'm looking for

- I will be in South-East Asia and need to be able to charge it up, I have heard of people saying you can't even charge it in the UK from the mains, it needs USB - is this true? Will iPod charge in Asia?

Basically the 80gig iPod is perfect for what I need, its just I would like something media player compatible if possible, and it would be cool to have something different to everyone else I know - the Microsoft Zune is very appealing, is there any reason I shouldn't get one off ebay? Will it work over here?

You'd have thought there would be more competition for high-capacity MP3 players, but creative have nothing.. Only one 32gig model at £249.00

So yeah, there are the features, again the most important thing is that I can use and charge it in South East Asia, and that it's not real delicate..

Thanks!

I much prefer WMP personally, and as I have a media centre setup and like my pc streamlined and highly organised, being able to scrap itunes would be good.

I have an iPod mains charger already, but do they work in Asia? I know I need a convertor, but even then some electronics don't work properly with lower voltage, but some do..

Thanks for the info, Kev I am particularly interested as you own one -

Someone on ebay was selling one, claiming that he bought it for backpacking but couldn't take it as it required a USB charger - you know of any UK power supplies around? Could I plug the USB lead from it, into my powersupply unit on my existing ipod? Is it just electrical hardware or is it more complicated than that?
