US: Looking for new show recommendation?

Things I hate and refuse to watch is anything to do with the following:

Zombies
Time travel
Sci-Fi
Set in the past/future
Or have drugs or medical cases as the basis of the show.

I love shows that continue on from the previous episode and leave you hanging in suspense.

I LOVED/Love:

24
Prison Break
Mentalist
Desperate housewives (dont knock it until you try it)
Justified

I have enjoyed:

Nikita
White Collar
Person Of Interest
Two & A Half Men
Lie To Me
King Of Queens
Human Target

I've tried:

Numb3rs
Psych
New Girl
And a lot of the common ones that include drugs or medical dramas and I hate them all.

I like to be in suspense, I like mysteries, cop shows, connection to the main character on all levels.

Any good suggestions?

No drugs remember. I have tried it, watched 10 or so episodes and just couldn't get to grips with it.

I tried the shield and didn't like it, sons of anarchy sounds ok as does Southland. I'll give them both a go. Cheers.

Dexter is too medical based for me.

I like the idea of it. I like Monk and the mentalist. Psych was just too stupid and immature for me. It wasn't serious enough and too much silly humour. More of a teen comedy drama I thought.

Californication was a bit too weird for me. Nothing really happened. Was a few years ago I tried it now. Some old guy chasing a young bird trying to write a book. Not for me.

I tried Castle... But feel I never gave it a chance, going to try it again!

Boston legal sounds promising. I like legal suave lawyer shows (currently giving suits a go) also likes the defenders.

I've watched half of Chicago code and when I realised it wasn't being continued I stopped. Wasn't that good anyway.

I looked at elementary last night myself. I'll need to give it a go as others also mentioned it. Cheers for that one.

im currently watching entourage and justified. justified flies under radar but is better than most really big filmed series.

Ahh, Entourage. I loved that show!!! Had to wait ages on the last season. I watched the first 7/8 in the one go.

Can't believe there's only 10 eps and we need to wait 9 months on season 2!

I'll end up watching it again at Xmas time no doubt so it's fresh in the mind.
