Looking for new speakers.

Hi all.

Iv'e got a cheapo (well they cost me 60 quid a few years ago) 5.1 logitech set of speakers, and i'm thinking of an upgrade.

I do play games, but my main love is listening to music.

ive been looking at these - Logitech Z-5500 . Will they be good for music?

I have a creative X-Fi Extreme music card in my pc.

Also, would it be best sticking with 5.1, or shall i look at 2.1?

Budget is 200 quid give or take.

The Z5500's are awsome for the price and offer tons of bass, but for the best quality sound and because of the fact most music tracks are only in stereo, bookshelves and an amp proberbly would be the best.

5.1 - take the Logitech Z5500
2.1 - take the AE Aego M

Thanks for the replys, i'll have a look at both mentioned. Im not normally into huge bass, i like a good quality balanced sound.

I'd imagine a amp and bookshelf speakers would far exceed my budget though right?

Aego M has good clarity and not too bassy.

you can get separates 2nd hand and it can meet your budget.

No way you can get aquality setup for about £100 these days like 2 gale mini monitors cambridge amp and cd player.
