Hello!

I've managed to misplace or delete my old Rock laptop drivers. Tried to find them in the usual places but it seems as if they have disappeared. It is 10 years old after all. It is handy to have the drivers in case of a reinstall.

Would anyone have any ideas? Possible to find the individual drivers by knowing the hardware?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply

So on the back there is:

a barcode number FG033249
Part: ROCK029089

Pegasus 670/P670-T7250/100GB 7200/WI

I forgot to say that Rock is no longer.

heh I ended up there earlier and wondered if it was Stone who bought them out but for some reason I though it was Alienware! Good thinking, I'll see if Stone can shed any light on an old Rock. Cheers!

Still going strong/ Built more like a brick! Running W7/Ubuntu. Thought I would just have a look for drivers (vista ones I think are what I used last time) as I was going to maybe try W10 at some point. Laptop is still brilliant for use as a media pc or for the odd bit of BF2 :)

Thanks, that's a useful bit of software. At least if I can't get them off the shelf I maybe able to hunt them down individually. It's a bit like owning a classic car now!

Something I used to do in such situations was to get the Hardware ID of the device missing the driver and then search for it on pcidatabase website. Seems it no longer exists but looks like there's alternatives out there but never tried them.

Ah Rock I remembered the brand so shame Stone Group no longer build their own Stone or Rock brand PCs anymore.

I searched web archive site for rockdirect.com and found spec:

My 11 years old 17 inch Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop worked fine with Windows 10. :)

If you still have no drivers after install Windows 10, you can copy and paste device hardware IDs on Microsoft Update Catalog to search and download correct drivers with matched hardware IDs.

Crikey I had one of these. Those 8600M Gt's were famous for cooking themselves (and ultimately is what kileld mine) I'm amazed to hear one is still going!

Hey guys, I bought a couple of laptops for 10 euros and ended up having the same one. Sorry for reviving this old thread (or this old laptop lol) I was messing with the bios and saved turned out it got bricked somehow and can't figure out how to reset the bios. I have the Greek version of this (turbo x) and after some research found out it's the same one (even motherboard bios etc) so if any of you brits can help me out I'd appreciate it. Cannot find information or pdf about the bios and motherboard in case of resetting it. Already removed the cmos batter but nothing. Is there a jumper somewhere? Can't seem to find one. Thanks

Hey thanks for the reply! Can you please elaborate? You mean removing bios chip and reprogramming/resoldering?

Removing bios chip / reprogramming yes. Older models you had to do this.

If you have already removed the battery it should have reset the bios password, but if it hasn't then chip may need to be replaced or reprogrammed. Maybe if you see if you can find the latest bios for it and flash it possibly may work as well.

To flash the bios again it has to post first, no? I just get black screen when turning on. I might have a way to find bios for it if it can flash it without me soldering stuff.
