Looking for opinions, before pulling the trigger...

My XPS has finally outlived its gaming days, stuck on a GT550m, so I'm thinking of taking the plunge and buying myself something shiny and new. I like the look of this lappy;

and as it falls in my price range of not breaking the £1500 barrier, I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger, but wondered if any of you good people out there had any other suggestions, or any thoughts on this laptop.

This came out last November. So I wouldn't call it shiny and new. I can't find anyone else still selling this, so hard to tell if this is a good price. These old models you would expect to be heavily discounted on black friday.
The spec on this looks better than the current G9-793 which only has a GTX 1060 and 128gb SSD. The cpu is a 7700hq which is better than the 6th gen processor in yours.

We can do one at full price if you prefer ;-)

Its current model, with all latest generation tech, so not end of line as such - its our strongest deal model & price for the Black Friday promotion period.... and after meeting with OcUK yesterday we decided to pull the trigger early and make it clear to all that the price wont go lower; it can be purchased in advance of the actual Black Friday date without any worry of you seeing it with any further discount.

As mentioned its a limited quantity offer, and once it's gone, it's gone.

Is it my poor eyesight or do they not put CD/DVD drives on Laptops anymore ?? - been looking at cheap models than this and not seeing any drives.
 
This has a dvd drive at the front, with a convenient detachable tray, so you can have either that or plug in another hard disk for extra storage.
