Looking for people familiar with the RIPE processes

Greetings, is anyone aware of how one would go about changing details within the RIPE database, specifically details relating to allocations, ownership, management contacts etc

Even better do RIPE provide a means of contacting them to assist in changing such information.

To cut a long story short a company that went into administration over 10 years ago owned a substantially large netblock, when this went bump it's assets were bought by my current MD but the company details remained the same against the AS and subsequent netblock. Currently this netblock comes into our premises via a 2Mbit leased line circuit, we also host a PoP for Colt Telecom off which this circuit resides.

I need to establish who has ownership of this AS/Netblock and if so ammend the details to retain control of it ideally as we are looking at reactivating the peering agreement for the purpose of hosting services ourselves.

I hope this makes sense as i dont dabble in the ISP arena all that often!

Hi,

You can email RIPE and they'll help you through any changes you want to make. But they will never go into how routing works etc, only questions directly related to the RIPE database.

You should get yourself on one of the FREE ripe training cources which they are always organising on a regular basis.

Ive been looking into the Webupdate tool but the current maintainer is no longer contactable, so looks like i will have to speak with RIPE, just one more question would i be correct in assuming that an AS is linked with the company name and as such whoever owns the rights to the name of the company also owns the AS and associated netblock?

Above URL lists the types of courses, what they cover & location.

We receive an email from RIPE every couple weeks detailing courses that they have running. You have RIPE do the same for you.

I only know bits about how RIPE operates, it's my colleague who maintains our IPs in the RIPE database.
