looking for people that have experience with car write offs, and like for like replacement?

so a few people on here may remember that i bought a clio 182 trophy 2 weeks ago.....

so last sunday, i slide down a ice/snow covered hill and straight over a round about

i had it picked up by trailer on monday, and the body shop have quoted my insurance company £3000 to repair it.

the car only cost me £3800, so im guessing the will write it off? will find out on tue for sure

so if they do write it off how does the like for like replacement system work?

being a trophy they are rare as hens teeth, and i can only find 5 for sale atm, the only one that i can find thats is in the same condition as mine was, is £5400

so can any one advise me on what steps it take , IF they do write the car off please

They will probably give you the book guide price, minus the excess. Assuming you are fully comp insured.

Most insurers will start with a low offer, reject that offer and send them adverts for similar examples to your car, to and fro between each other until you get bored.
