Hey there, I was bored the other day and so came up with the idea of modding the old quicksilver g4 powermac case to fit a micro atx board and system. Would anyone know of a place where i could buy the case for the system or where i could get the entire system cheaply and then just salvage the case?

Thanks

Had a look on their - however never been that big a fan of ebay :S - if i cant find anywhere else to buy one from then id go through them, but prefer not to if possible.

You could hassle a few apple resellers and ask if they have any DOA laptops that you could have off them.

I doubt they'd give you it for free, but if the lappy is dead then they might consider a big knock-down price ;)

Who mentioned laptops? :p
DAAAHHH

Too many laptop threads around.. you know what I meant though, just replace the word lappy for Powermac ;)

If you don't want to use eBay then you'll pay hundreds to get one from an Apple service provider, and even then they may not sell you one.

They're not even very good cases compared to what's around now, very poor at cooling anything other than a G4.

This would be such a waste of a Mac. G4 machines are still perfectly capable. :(

I know their still perfectly capable, have a g4 imac downstairs and despite being really old it still manages photoshop pretty well :D

If its not worth it i wont bother then, just was an idea for a project
