Heading to Dubai in 2 weeks, looking for recommendations for places to go, eat at, etc.

Is the Burj Khalifa SKY ticket worth it? The premium seems like a lot for the 20 odd extra floors.

Glad I ticked off UAE via work, it's a place that doesn't remotely interest me for personal travel.

Burj Khalifa is alright, for some reason I did pay for the 'premium' option, as there were no normal tickets left (did it on a whim). It is impressive yes, but wouldn't bother again.

My biggest gripe about those cities is that everything is so far from everything else, and it's not a city where you can just explore by foot and discover things along the way.
The old market bit is quite nice too if you've not experienced any middle eastern culture I guess.

The Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi is very impressive if you ever make your way across that way.
I am hoping to day trip to Abu Dhabi

Thanks for all the recs. Did a flying visit and got back this morning. Didn't end up going up the Burj Khalifa in the end because left it a bit late to get tickets and everything was sold out.

Oh, if anybody ends up finding this thread later for Dubai - they give out tourist SIMs with 1gb data at the airport (but it expires in 24 hours after activation, and I wasn't able to top up with my credit card)
