Greetings,

I'm looking for some help with regard sourcing a software which will self generate invoices, based upon labour time spent on a project, materials used and updating warehouse stock based upon materials utilised in each maintenance job.

Background -
I'm getting involved with a business in a sector I'm not familiar with. It is centred around maintenance with labour travelling from job to job, back and forth to the company stores to pick up materials they require for maintenance, carrying stock, stock control and the associated invoicing.

The current business is an old family business and as such the systems are dated and massively inefficient. Stock control is lacking and the time spent in generating invoices manually is draining. Therefore I'd like to source a software package which will aid the situation.

What I'm thinking of:
1. Each time one of our employees turns up to a job or starts a project; the software informs the employee, what materials were used last time and historical material list, so that the employee can load up their van with materials which are likely to be utilised.
2. The employee then scans each item they've taken out of the stores stock levels.
3. The project job sheet then allows the employee to state what times they've used; therefore invoicing each material; as well as keeping a tally of what materials are due to be returned to stock if not utilised (there will be a better solution to items 2-3 but this is just to spit ideas)
4. When the employee turns up on site, they scan a code to start the timesheet/job sheet; the job sheet will remain open until the employee closes the job sheet and enters the materials.
5. Once job sheet is update; the invoice is generated and set to client; invoice logged; materials logged & time logged. Materials used can then be kept logged for future stock ordering as required.

I am sure there will be software out there which does this but as mentioned before its a new sector of work for me and as such i'm not up to speed with the systems available for this sector of work.

Any help / experience on the above would be great fully received.

Regards

Y
