I need some nice smooth 5.1 speakers for under £200 please if you could recommend.
I don't really know what features to look for as I've been using my Hi-fi for ages in 2 channel mode. The speakers will need to be up to a range of tasks such as music, gaming, and movies. I'm not fussed about earth-shattering bass as it'll annoy the neghbours, but a nice filling of the lower frequencies will do me. Having said that explosions need to sound like explosions!
I currently have a SB Live dig which I am more than willing to upgrade if needs be. Which sound cards would be good for a balance of movies games and music?
Something I'd also like to know also is if you can use your average computer set with the DVD players downstairs i.e. with a home setup as well as a computer one? How do I get Dolby Digital through these speakers from a computer?
Thanks for anything you can offer.
