Hi chaps! Pretty new to posting on the Overclockers UK forums, mostly just a reader :)

Anyway, looking for some feedback on this build for my latest rig, ive ran it past a few of my friends and they said to get a wider view on it, so here i am.

Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme Edition QX9770
Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 Intel X48 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR3
OCZ 4GB DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Platinum (2x2GB)
Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB 10000RPM
Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB
Tagan TG1100-BZ 1100w Modular BZ Series PSU
Vista Ultimate 64
For graphics cards, im planning to purchase an ATI 4870X2 (or two :P) when they become available.

And, of course, a full water cooling system. All mounted in a Mountains Mods Ascension case <3

Now, for the overclocking part. I plan to oc the QX9770 to 4.4ghz (400x11), and hopefully up the 1333 RAM to 1600, which should give a nice stable boot (as far as i am aware).

Any thoughts, comments or general tips would be most welcome as this is the first system ive went big on watercooling. (Also intending to do a build log on this system once i have all the parts i need :) )

Cheers in advance!

Going to be used primarily for gaming at the moment, but that is subject to change depending on work :)

Only reason I have went with the QX9770 is because i managed to pick one up locally at a very reasonable price (about £600) :)

Thanks mate, it was actually RAM i had the most trouble deciding on. So any information on how well it overclocks would be great !

If you are overclocking then would get the QX9650, as far as I understand is no different to the QX9750 other than the stock FSB which you can raise anyway when you clock it.. Also if your planning a high end overclock you are better with an Asus Board

if you're after 400fsb i'd go with ddr2.

maybe swap the western digital for another samung f1 1tb

have you had a look at the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad-Crossfire PCI-E 750W Power Supply ?
