Hi all,

Full specs are in my signature. I don't really have a budget as such, but don't want to spend money needlessly for very small gains. I'm looking at future proofing my system for high end games at the best settings, and the only upgrade I've made in over three years is getting a 1070 & G-Sync monitor.

I'm considering more RAM and maybe a new SSD, but would this have a decent impact on performance? Also maybe it's time for a new CPU, or would it be worth over clocking at this point?

Appreciated in advance all!

Overclocking? - always worth it

Other than that I really can't add anything more than Orbitalwalsh has suggested, you're unlikely to get big gains without spending silly money

Appreciate the feedback guys; suspected this would be the case.

Out of curiosity is a decent 1TB SSD viable for £200? Seem like they're more past the £300 mark.

Also, any idea of a decent priced cooler for me CPU? One that would do the trick long-term?

Cheers Freddie! That's me SSD sorted, opted for the MX500 based off its reputation online.

I'll now look to overclock CPU; any recommendations for a cooler anyone?

Check your case clearance (as Freddie mentioned) before deciding on a cooler, or tell us what case you have and we'll sort some out for you that won't break the bank. The one linked above, whilst good, is 165mm tall.

Would an AIO cooler be an option.

I got the H115i and tbh I love the thing I have 4 fans on it the two it comes with and an extra two on the front push/pull it never went above 60c under load.

Tbh I'm a big fan of the AIO coolers now never used to be.

I am thinking of doing a build log as it's currently in bits (MB is deaded).

But recently I just got some sexy BitFenix red cables and an m.2 drive.

I'm thinking of doing a build on it.

Any way sorry back to your pc lol.

Go for an AIO cooler there awesome.
