I've posted in some other sections of the forum for some info on a build, such as which mobo and graphics card to get. So i thought i'd ask here for a whole system build too. As i've been looking into much hardware for a bit i'm not up to date with things so if you would like to spec me something for me that would be great.

I'm looking for it to do a bit of gaming e.g. CSS and some other games but probably nothing too intense that requires a beast of a pc.

my range is around £300-£400.

You need everything or just the base unit?
Just the base. Cheers Semi-pro...that was something i was looking at, i wasn't sure if i should just get a cheap motherboard or get something a bit better.

Worth going for coreduo2 at this price or probably better for AMD or am i not going to get it much cheaper?

Cheaper but slower. C2D is just 'obscenely' fast

EDIT: Can't fault semi-pro waster's spec, except maybe change GFX to the newer 8600GT (here) ;)

I've got one in my Macbook ;) . But anyway, how good are the e4300? I'm gonna look at some benchmarks but, are these just as good processors even though they don't have 1066fsb and 4mb cache. I will overclock it for sure!
