this mb i bought a while back from ocuk is supposed to have bluetooth built in but i cant find any way to turn it on or if it needs separate driver!

MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus (Socket LGA 1200) DDR4 ATX Motherboard

thanks in advance for any info

Go into the BIOS, there'll be an option to enable bluetooth somewhere, turn that on first.

Go into windows settings and enable bluetooth. Can't remember exactly where it is but you can search. You might need to update drivers but windows update should download them automatically for you.

Install the drivers for your motherboard from the MSI website as well if you have not already.

Note NOT the bios upgrade (bios flash) but there should be some chipset drivers, sound drivers etc

Also it might just be the motherboard Bluetooth is terrible, they tend to be.

Thanks very much for the info, but seams there is no bluetooth option in the bios which kinda sucks as when i bought the MB i wasn't aware there were 2 versions or i would have obviously gone for the one with bluetooth and I guess it's not got Wi-Fi either, you would think with the price of MB's these days they would have everything lol

I know this thread is couple weeks old now but I discovered something which may well be relevant to anyone with motherboard bluetooth issues who does a search and comes across this thread.

I was trying to get bluetooth working on my MB (see sig), which I know has it installed, turned it on in BIOS, turned it on in windows, checked drivers, no joy. Turns out I had to attach the motherboards separate WIFI antenna, even though it does not mention anywhere in the manual that this must be connected for Bluetooth to work. I guess they just assume everyone would have it connected, I didn't because I use ethernet cable for my internet rather than wifi.
