well its that time of year again and im looking for some recommendations for my xmas list...:)

the thing that i want to do is get my pc games to play on my 40" HD TV..

So i am looking for the following:

wireless key board
wireless mouse

(last time i bought a mouse and key board was 5 years ago and everything looks good now, so i need some recommendations)

i dont have a clue how to get the pc to run on the tv the best i have done so far is look at WMC through the xbox....
i cant really run a cable through the room so i was hoping there was another way that i could play pc games on the tv any ideas or products??

for the keyboard and mouse have a look at Logitech MX5500 deskop

I've got the mouse, and well its the best I've ever used. Fantastic. Little expensive though :D

As for the displaying I can't really help. pretty sure you'd need a cable as you couldn't transfer the display data fast enough over ethernet so that doesn't really happen.

pc on the tv through xbox is a no go - only way you could do it is if you link the tv to the pc via dvi-hdmi or via vga

you would need a seperate cable for sound too unless your graphics card supports sound over hdmi [most dont]

even still - a proper pc monitor is the only way you will see decent performance through your rig

wireless input is generally a no go for most pc gamers too

ok thanks for the replys

i thought as much with regards to wirless picture feed being slow, looks like its cable then...

dose the pc picture turn out ok on HDTV? or should i just get a larger pc monitor? just liked the idea of gaming on the sofa. and i still dont like the xbox360 games as they dont compare to pc multiplayer for FPS.

i tried pc gaming on the sofa
it doesnt work

i would go for a 22" pc monitor - can be had for £150 now for a decent one

well worth every penny

dvi to dvi is the only way to go to get the best from that graphics card

sofa gaming does work. I'm on a sofa at the moment with my mouse and mouse mat next to me and keyboard on my lap. My dell 2407 is a little away and I was playing crysis the other day for serveral hours...

My advise would be if you are planning on using your 40" TV to game on, would be to run it at 1920x1200 if you can. If you can't and 1440 is the highest you can go then you might want to look at a large monitor. But it really depends on how much the picture quality effects you. Just bare in mind your TV probably won't look as good as your screen. You could try running it via HDMI 1080i but can't say it would work.
