Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a set of three monitors to make an eyefinity set up. I'm struggling to decide which make/model to pick, as I'd probably be looking to spend approx £150ish per monitor there's a huge selection of different monitors in this price range. Ideally I would like 24'' but 22'' is also fine.

Does anyone have recommendations on what they've used?

Thanks a lot!

Hi there,

You mention you want the monitors for eyefinity - do you plan to mainly use them for gaming or do you have other main uses in mind?

Also, for eyefinity you require an AMD graphics card - do you plan to get one of these or do you already have one? May I ask which model number?

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Sorry I should have mentioned it, mainly it's for gaming, mmo's, driving and FPS games.

With regards to graphics card, I'm going to get either a 7950 or 7970 once the price drops a little more on them.

Sweet, a HD 7900 card would be very nice.

As for which monitors to go for, with that budget you can decent 24in 1080p TN panel Iiyama monitors like this. These are decent quality monitors that are responsive and are a good size. If you can up your budget then you could afford E-IPS panel monitors that deal with motion well - like the ASUS ML239H.

You will also need one of these active adapter cables to drive the third monitor.

Same quandry..

Hi I am in the same boat per say, currently using a 32inch LCD hdtv, work on 3 screens so using 1 at home is very limiting.

Managed to get superlucky on the bay.. some guy sold off 10 Asus 7970... prices ranged from as low as 345.. to 400.. i managed to get one of those for 360 all in. Thought I was dreaming whislt working at night :D

BUt I digress.. my ounce of luck for the year all used up.. now I'm looking at xfire 3 screens 22 or 24 inch again. Searching around havent been able to find anywhere that caters for people looking for ultra small bezel LED's.

So point being what is the smallest bezel LED at a decent price for multipurpose, gaming videos browsing etc..

As the poster would, I'd appreciate the assistance, would need VESA as planning to get one of those fancy triple monitor stands.

Best thing/closest i've seen is the 3x setup from LG but price and quality of the screens is a big nono.

Samsung SyncMaster MD230X3

So all and any suggestions are welcome :)

Thanks

Hey, thanks very much for the reply, really helpful! :)

I decided to go for the Iiyama Prolite E2473HDS in the end. Trying to pick which model to buy was an absolute nightmare as there is so many iiyama monitors at very similar prices. The E2473HDS seems to be fairly new and has gotten favourable reviews from many places.

@noobieclocker - Sounds like you got a great deal on the 7970! If it helps you, the E2473HDS will likely meet your requirements, being that they are very similar to mine. I decided to get one screen first to test it rather than splash out for 3 and have to return all of them if I wasn't happy.

The screen is great so far - very clear with good colour vibrancy. The only issue I had was that for gaming it was very flickery - not sure how to properly describe the problem, but it was if the monitor was struggling to keep up with the motion. Luckily I had read a review that mentioned this - from the monitor's menus you can change the OD (Overdrive) setting which really helps. I changed it from 'off' to '2' which made a huge improvement.

Overall, I'm very happy with the screen and will buy the other two and the 7970 soon. It has a VESA mount too which you mentioned you needed.

Hope this helps!
