Been helping out on a network and no one seems to know how all the switches are linked together across the side. They have about 5 comms rooms with 2-3 switched in each and they are connedted via fibre. Wondering was there any software about or an easy way to find out what fibre goes to what switch etc. I'ed love to go round pulling cable out and seeing what happends but that aint going to happen!

If the switches are managed and have SNMP enabled then Solarwinds Lan Surveyor does exactly this.

I'm currently using it to map the network of a very large company (600+ sites) as part of a LAN transformation.
Without SNMP it's not very helpful but so far it's helped me massively and well worth the companies money
