Looking For the best anti theft app for android must have takephoto

99% of Cerberus works unrooted. Rooting allows you to do a couple of things namely:

1. Insert Cerberus into the actual ROM so a full wipe of the device means Cerberus is till intact . You need to flash a new ROM to remove it.

2. Allow you to remotely enable GPS even when the thief has disabled it.

Another Cerberus

When I was off work with a broken leg I installed Cerberus on my work mates phone, lo g stories short he got saked when my leg got better :-D

Download the demo and test it. Think you get a week or 2

You should find the Cerberus thread in GD now that was quality haha

When you have Cerberus install you shouldn't have a lock on your phone, the more its used the easier it is to track

But unless its installed within the ROM surely most people will do a reset within a few hours and remove the SIM? I know what you're getting at, but I do wonder how many people with Cerberus installed and have their phone stolen actually get it back (or other action) because of it..

If anything I'd my main priority would be to wipe the phone.

however! a couple of weeks ago at work my OnePlus one was in my pocket. I took it out and it was on the setup screen like it had just been reset. I found out later when I checked my email that I had 10 failed unlock attempts and therefore it wiped... but all of my media etc. was still actually on the phone when I plugged it into the PC. So not quite sure what exactly it did, apart from make the phone look like new (no apps etc.)

I don't actually have it installed on my phone (Note 3) right now, I just feel like I would never lose or have my phone stolen hence not running it. -- I'm sure that's what everybody thinks though.. I'll go flash it back on later today.

It can only wipe the internal memory unless you have set up the app on the phone to wipe the SD Card. It then gets you to download another small app to enable access to wiping the SD Card.
Well the OnePlus One only has internal storage and therefore no external SD Card. I think they still classify it as an SD Card though. I set it up on my Note 3 yesterday and checked the boxes so I could wipe the cards remotely.

Haha. Yeah, let's make it super easy for thieves to access personal data.
He has kind of got a point.. if the thieve can't get past the lock code then they are more likely to turn it off or try and wipe it. If they can get straight in then you would think you have a longer duration of time to try and track it etc.
But I really wouldn't anybody going through my stuff so I'd much rather keep it locked and probably just remote wipe it ASAP. If I can get a location and a face pic first, then great.
