I have got a PC with a dead PSU. My PC is put under load from my 3D design/rendering and some gaming.

I have a dual core CPU spec listed below

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066 FSB)
Leadtek GeForce 7950 GX2 1024MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)
2 x GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel
Western Digital Raptor 74GB WD740ADFD 10,000RPM SATA 16MB Cache - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Liteon DRW-6S160P-05C 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter
Samsung SH-D162 DVD-ROM (Black)

I want a PSU that can later support a quad core process (future compatible), silent, efficient and reliable.

I have been looking at ....

Zalman ZM850-HP Heatpipe Cooled 850W Modular PSU

Coolermaster Real Power 850w Modular Power Supply

Can you help please.

You've gone through a few Corsairs. Well that's no good is it. ;)

After having done quite a bit of research the last week I've decided that the HX520/620 are the best ones out there atm.

The Corsir is a great PSU and as you can see comes highly recommended.

It's more than capable of powering a high end quadcore system with a good graphics card.

Alternatively, if you want silence then a fanless PSU would be another option although you are a touch limited on power output and their high cost.

I use a german made Yesico supply. 550watts and fanless in design. Get's hot under load and only warm while doing standard desktop tasks.

Powers my e8500 @ 3.8ghz, a 9800GX2, 8gb of ram, 3x HDD's and a watercooling loop in total silence.

I've tried both Corsair and Coolermaster PSU's, there is little between them.

Although, Coolermaster Real Power range does have better quality modular cabling than the Corsair and is also a little cheaper, too (watts/£).

I think that is a great PSU for 2 year old PC's but I want a PSU for a SLI,SATA system that will need at least 650 watts but to be future compatible I want it to be a minimum of 800 Watts so if you could recommend ...a PSU similar to this.

Which Corsai'sr have you used? Currently only the HX520/620 and TX650 are made by Seasonic (good) while the rest are made by CWT which Coolermaster use along with Acbel.
