Looking for upgrade advice.

I purchased a Titan Virtual Force VR Gaming PC - Intel Core i5 6600K @ 4.5GHz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Graphic FS-002-OG back in 2016, and it's still going strong. However, I did skimp on the RAM, only going for 16 gig at the time.

I'm now looking to upgrade my rig, specifically more ram and maybe a graphics card update. However, the
Kingston Fury Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C15 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black now appears to be a discontinued item almost everywhere and I genuinely don't know what output the PSU is in this pre-built rig. So, I'm not even sure if this can take on any more hardware or if it's just worth going for an entirely new rig.

Any suggestions?

Depends on games you play.

RAM kit for 32 gig costs about £139.99.

You can XMP profile to clock it or lower RAM speed to max allowed for your motherboard. With Skylake I ran RAM at 3000 Mhz.

Anyway, RAM will only marginally boost game performance and upgrades depend on what games are to be played. Cyberpunk 2077, I would suggest a new PC.

Really? Cyberpunk 2077 I've seen lower spec'd pcs running this reasonably. Not at full settings mind you but still looking okay. Do staff members comment on this forum? I'm only asking because I have no idea what PSU they built my rig with so no idea what output it has. Thanks for the post btw. As for the ram, well RimWorld eats more ram than Chrome. May take your suggestion and go for a new rig, but I really, really, like my case.

Yes, you need to check on PSU. However if it is running a GTX 1070, it may be fine.

A 6600 K is a quad core, that's out of date and deemed budget in 2021. I had the 6700K, it was starting to show its age.

You can ask for staff advice, in Customer Service section I believe. This is the new to gaming and upgrade section. DDR 4 RAM can be had (brand new) for above price. Your current RAM is quite slow and end of line. Also, OCUK staff may not work on Sundays.

You could get second hand RAM and a used 6700K/6800K and overclock I suppose. That will give a boost. Not as much as a new graphics card.

Right now is not a good time to upgrade the graphics card. The GTX 1070 is still quite good. Prices have exploded due to lockdown, shortages and Ethereum mining . The cheapest RTX 3060Ti, is £449.99 and out of stock.

Problem is 4 core/4 thread CPU easily causing hiccups, when it simply doesn't have enough workers to do all simultaneous tasks.
Earlier 4 core/8 thread CPU can well give smoother gaming experience in heavy games because of those extra threads.

And PSU is likely Kolink if you picked up some standard pre built configuration.
(meaning cheap brand)
