Hi guys looking for a upgrade Iam running 2 x HD6870 in crossfire

Iam looking at the : ASUS Radeon R9 290X got about £230 to spend or cheaper

What do do recon ?

You won't get much better than that card for the price. The only other option would be to wait a few weeks for the new cards and see if there are any price drops on the older ones
 
I'd buy that now, I'm not sure whether you'll get anything 290X tier for £230 with the new cards
 
The only possible alternative might be a 780Ti, but I can't recall seeing any on offer for under £250.

The pricing of the AMD 300 cards and Nvidia's response will determine whether anything worthwhile other than a 290X exists for people with budgets under £250.
