Hi there,
I am looking at getting a laptop with a GTX1060 to replace my ancient Asus N55SF with a GT555M (purchased in 2011!)
Work has me travelling a lot (hence the laptop), but when working from home, and on weekends I would like to connect to an external monitor.
Primary uses will be both for work, and gaming. I play WoW/SWTOR, Heroes of the Storm, XCOM 2, and Pillars of Eternity. No Shooters. Work is Office suite and Adobe Articulate. Some video editing but not much.
My budget would be anywhere between £150 & £300.
Based on my research so far, it appears that a 24" 1080p IPS panel would suit me best. I do like vibrant colours, and from what I have read MMOs & MOBAs don't benefit as much from high refresh rates as shooters, so 60Hz would probably be ok for me. (Is that correct?)
However, I do fancy a 27" monitor! - So my questions are:
1. Would a GTX1060 have trouble with driving 1440p gaming?
2. If yes, would a 1080p 27" screens such as the Asus MX279H be a good alternative? I have read in places that 1080p on 27" looks blurry?
3. Any recommendations for a monitor based on the above information?
Many thanks!
Matt
