Looking to upgrade

Had my PC about a year now and fancy changing it up a bit so was looking for some help/advice.

My main uses are gaming, video production and graphic design.

My current specs:
Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz
MSI Z97 Gaming 5 DDR3 ATX Motherboard
MSI Radeon R9 290 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5
TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz
EVGA SuperNova G2 750W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply

I was thinking about a CPU upgrade and fancied switching to an NVIDIA graphics card as I like the look of G-SYNC and shadow play looks like a very good piece of software compared to what I use now.

I noticed there were a fair few bundles of CPU & Mobo, some with RAM some without, that looked ideal and just wanted opinions on the best choices in terms of value for money and performance improvements.

The ones I have been looking are:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus Z97 Maximus VII Ranger Intel Core i7 DIY ATX Motherboard, CPU & RAM Bundle £491.93
1 x Asus X99-S - Intel Core i7 5820K Six Core CPU & Motherboard Bundle ***£30 Saving*** £485.98
1 x Gigabyte X99M Gaming 5 - Intel Core i7 5820K Six Core CPU & Motherboard Bundle ***£20 Saving*** £443.98
1 x Asus Maximus VII Impact - Devils Canyon Core i7 4790K CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£30 Saving** £391.98
1 x Asus Maximus VII Ranger - Devils Canyon Core i7 4790K CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£15 Saving** £372.94
Total : £2,203.00 (includes shipping : £13.50 Ex.VAT).

And the graphics cards:

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Superclock ACX 2.0 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (04G-P4-2983-KR) £479.99
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 980 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £469.99
1 x OcUK GeForce GTX 980 "Reference Design" 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £455.99
Total : £1,415.57 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).

Finally I wanted a water based CPU cooler, this looking like the one I'd go with:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair Hydro H100i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060009-WW) £98.99
Total : £107.69 (includes shipping : £7.25 Ex.VAT).

Any help is welcome, feel free to suggest things I haven't listed above, they were just the ones I noticed when looking.

Thanks in advance

I think you don't need to upgrade the lot. Firstly, I'd drop in a new or used i7 4770k or 4790k, as this will be much more cost effective than replacing the whole lot, and will give good gains for video rendering either way

A new 2x4GB set of RAM or a fresh 2x8GB set

Then, as the 290 you have is still very fast, either keep that or wait for the 980Ti which is due reasonably soon

Cor already on a i5-4670k... that's going to be weird since it's already a very good piece of kit. If you want to upgrade your processor, I'd recommend waiting for Skylake/Skylake-E. IMO, not worth upgrading it just after a year. If you need the extra grunt and really want to buy a new processor, just get the i7-4790k on its own, since the MSI motherboard you have is still a good board. You might want to upgrade the motherboard if you want SLI though. The 4790k is also on a good deal this week. Gigabyte is also a good mobo manufacturer, the Black Edition bundle is the best value for money, long lasting, has an upgrade thingy and you get cashback. Gaming 7 has a few extra SATA ports and a handful of differences.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 - Devils Canyon Core i7 4790K CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£25 Saving** £355.98
1 x Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BK - Devil's Canyon Core i7 4790K CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£15 Saving + Gigabyte Free Upgrade ** £349.98
1 x Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £251.99

As for graphics card, right now is not a good time to buy, since new cards come out over the next few weeks. Wait till all of them are out and you can still go for a 980, but it'll be cheaper from price drop.

Put the savings from spending less on processor/motherboard, into getting a slightly better water cooler. Since the H100i can be outperformed by the cheaper Noctua NH-D15 air heatsink. Go for a H110i, it's literally less than a £1 more. It has bigger fans and a bigger radiator.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair Hydro H110i GT 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060019-WW) £99.95

Final question, do you have an SSD? They really help the PC run faster. I'd recommend the Samsung 850 EVO 250GB, also on sale this week.

Thanks for the advice. Think I'll hold off on the graphics card for now then and see what's what after the new releases come out.

I should have said I would consider just putting a new CPU in and keeping the mobo which seems like the best plan if I do upgrade right now.

I'll get the H110i regardless of what I do with the rest so thanks for putting me onto that.
