hi guys im looking at building a new gaming pc and would like some advice on spechs, my budget is roughly £1200 and i would want to be able to play the latest games at high res and maybe abit of media editing etc.

965 phenom not worth it over 955.
I'd wait for ATI's new card and see what it's price and capabilities are before spending that much on a graphics card.
Asus is a good board, the MSI is also a very good board and £10 cheaper
 
Well, if you dont want a monitor, it would go somthing like this;


Add one of the new 5870, i know it would be around £1300 but im sure you can get £100 from some where :D
Also, you could change the ram to 1600mhz then be in your price range
