Hi guys,

Ive had my current pc for about 2.5 years and back then it was a cheap gaming pc, specs are

Gigabyte GA-H55M-U2DH motherboard
Intel i3 CPU 550 @ 3.20ghz currently clocked to 3.82ghz
Nvidia GTS 450 1024MB
4GB RAM (CORSAIR XSM3)
CORSAIR VX450W power supply
OCUK value casehttp://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=ca-063-op&groupid=2362&catid=505
2 x 500gb hardrives
windows 7 64 bit

pretty basic but used to play battlefield 3 and crysis 2 at a reasonable quality.

im looking to get back into playing games on the pc and would like a new build, i have been looking and was wandering if any fo you guys could help me spec a few bits. mainly looking at new case, motherboard bundle as such, gpu and power supply, i dont think my current one is up to much more. i would like to start off with one gpu to start off with and then when funds allow to purchase a second card to run in crossfire. this is what i have spec'd up so far for the bits mentioned i would like to try and stick to a budget of roughly £600 - 700.

Thanks
Rob

thanks guys your help is much appreciated, comparing the intel and the amd cpu's in the last 2 specs is there much in it in terms of bang for buck? is the intel worth that much more in your opinion? i take it with the cases spec'd i would still be able to put a second graphics card into my system with enough room?

I'd take the Intel one, AMD is almost always for the tighter-budgets, though you may want to go for the AMD due to the better graphics card.

If you plan to go dual GPU later and spending a little more in the future is ok with you, probably go with the Intel build, you can't cross fire your CPU in a couple of months when you've saved more cash.

thanks for your input guys, im going to try and go with a black and green theme if possible and i know it raises the price, but it has to be done, plus i fell in love with the corsair case, what do you think to this spec? could you recommend a reasonbly priced modular PSU, as i would like to keep the case as tidy as possible. no green GPU cards :( so i will just take the shroud off the card and spray it at work, no problem.

The Xigmatek cooler is very good for the price, and would fit in nice with your theme.

Was going to suggest the gigabyte card, but it has less vram.

I believe Corsair had earlier issues, which have now been resolved, Seasonic make their own PSU rather than using a 3rd party.
