I have just got my first DSLR and lightroom, now I currently have this installed on my laptop but it is really, really slow so I need to get a PC for sorting all my photo's out.
The computer will be used for:
- Adobe Lightroom
- General Internet use
- Light video editing (If I film anything on my camera)
- Photoshop (Possibly if I can afford it)
I used to be into gaming, but I really don't have the time with my other hobbies so I'm not going to be playing games at all! So as you can see not a huge amount.
Now I have just had a look at all my computer parts and I have quite a few bits already. Lying around I have:
- 64GB SSD (currently in my micro server, but thinking of taking this out and sticking a old 80gb in there for windows on there as it's on all the time just serving files)
- 500GB SATA II Hard Drive
- Old computer case and some fans
- 22" VGA Monitor
- Keyboard and Mouse
and her comes where I'm a bit stuck on what to do I have
Option One
Biostar Micro ATX AM3 mobo, 4GB DDR2 with a Sempron currently so would need changing to a Phenomn X2, X3 or X4 something along those lines
OR
Option two
Asus H67 Micro ATX Mobo (1155)
Would need a CPU and DDR3
So as I said I am on a real budget, don't want to spend much but I want to be able to make adjustments in lightroom etc quickly.
Should I be looking at AMD or Intel and what CPU would you recommend?
Currently I am thinking of a Pentium G2020 and a single stick of 4GB DDR3 until I can get more RAM? Would this CPU be good enough or should I wait until next pay day and see if I can afford an i3 or does AMD provide me a cheaper option seeming as I have the 4GB DDR2...
Help me decide please
