looking to buy a Corrado

I am going to look at a corrado today, my dad used to have one and i really liked it, its a 2.0 16v L-reg, 135k on the clock, electrics all working, dark blue. is there anything in particular i should be looking for on these cars, its quite a lot of miles, but they seem to be alover the place selling with 160k+ miles so i assume its o.k . The garage said they would service it and mot it before it was delivered. Thanks in advance for any help

The G60's and VR6's are quick, the others aren't. But not slow at the same time. Oldish car now so expect lots of miles and some abuse. If low mileage expect its been clocked, or if its really mint maybe you just got a good one. The interior is not aswell made as golfs IMO. So they usually are a little more tatty. Make sure you check out out fully.

I think they are one of the best looking cars on the roads today. But everyone I know that has had one says that they had things going wrong with them a lot. Nothing major, more annoying, like boots not shutting, badly made interior, niggly stuff like that.

All I would say is the same as above... give it a proper good looking over. Try everything out, all the buttons and latches and stuff. Not much help sorry :)

Good luck mate, absolutely gorgeous cars IMO.

thats bad news but as said above if you really want a corrado go the whole hog and get a proper g60/vr6 :) i love the look of them myself never had the chance to be in one though.

I was in a 2.0 8v and a 2.8 VR6 Storm. The latter seemed to be better made, and it had a leather interior etc. Much later than the 2.0 8v so maybe they imporved the manufacturing process along the way.

My mate has a VR6 sitting in his garage, its the metalic dark green, done 120k miles recent mot service etc. Goes like stink. He hasn't used it much for over a year since he bought his skyline. I am sure he is looking to sell it on but can't be bothered to get round to it. I think he just likes having it. The bodywork is amazing considering the car and most of its electrics work fine. If you buy one get the VR6

aren't the storms quite rare? and the only ones that came with leather interior?

Not particularly and no. The storms are the run out models which basically had everything as standard. They command a significant premium though.

How much are you looking to spend? How much did they want for that example in the first post?

I've found that people try to charge lots for the Corrado, asking thousands for a car that's 10 years old and has tons of miles just because it's a 'Corrado'.

around £2000. i am 19 so the vr6 running costs and insurance are a no-no, my dad had a 2.0 16v and i really liked it and remember it sticking to the road, and was fast enough, wasn't really looking to buy a car and then saw this one for sale, got me interested again,
