I'm travelling Cambodia and Vietnam for 7 weeks over the summer and I need a camera to take with me!

I used to have a Nikon D50 a fair few years back and I really enjoyed it but then sold it due to being short on $$

I'm looking at a mixture of Nikon and Canon models at the moment
Canon 100D because it is v small and light - could be good for travelling
Nikon D5100/5200 apparently better IQ than the Canon

Lens wise I don't own any equipment so I'm easy as to which camera I buy (canon/nikon).
I expect to get a mixture of street photography and landscapes?
Would a wideish kit lens and a nifty 50 be ok? I don't want to take a load of lenses...

Advice appreciated!

Thanks for the input guys.
I went down to LCE earlier to have a go at some cameras. The 100D was very light and seemed to have good functionality but shooting in low light in the shop wasn't the best example.
I had a go at some compact cameras with manual functions which surprised me at how good they are.
I'd like to have a go with the nikon 5100/5200 to see what they are like compared to the canon. The IQ will be better i suppose but I'd like to have a feel of the weight.

What are the best rated CSCs around?

I've been putting some reading in over the last couple of days and the range of fuji cameras looks ideal
The three I'm looking at are:
X20
X-M1
X-A1

The A1 and M1 have a deal going at the mo where you can get a free 50-230 mm lens when you buy a kit.
However I can't really see much of a difference between the A1 and the M1 other than price??
