Running an AMD 7950X3D, RTX 3090, 64 Gb DDR5 ram, 3 x M.2 drives and 6 SSD's (believe it or not) and a dedicated soundcard .... running a Super Flower 1000W just now, but must have had it a good 5 years +, RTX 4090 coming up later this year, so a new ATX 3.0 PSU is in preperation for that as well.

I guess it would be prudent to go for 1200W ish for this.

Any recommendation please?

Thanks

I'd just keep it. If it can handle a 3090, it should have no problem with a 4090 and 5 years is not long in PSU terms. You might be able to buy a suitable 12/16 pin cable.

If you're using an adapter, how many independent cables does your 3090 require?

I'd have suggested the Toughpower GF3 1200 or MSI A1000G PCIE5, but both only have space for 2x EPS12v and 2x PCI-E 8pin.
