Looking to buy an DSLR.

First thing to do is go and try it and see how it feels against its comepetitors.

No they do not come with memory cards unless its a dealer bundle offer.

Other lenses will be needed down the line.

What are you likely to be taking pics off?

ALso check which 18-55 lens it is There seems to be a newer version out - not sure if its better or not

I just got a Nikon D3200 and it came with the newer VRII 18-55mm kit lens (the one that collapses). Pleasant surprise.

Where did you get it from? I have seen that on amazon for £340 (£7 more than the VR1)

Pictures will be dogs, mountain bikes, nature, and just general messing about with long exposures and such.

I got mine from Jessops - £310 (after cashback deal) with the 18-55mm kit lens. Got a bag, UV filter, SD card etc too as part of their available "bundles". Then spent another £130 (again, after cashback) on the 35mm f/1.8 due to it's reputation for being a great first prime.

Yeah, this tbh. Go and have a hands on feel.
Also, hold off on 2nd lens and use the kit lens to see what focal length you use more

I got the same one with the VRii lense and also the Tamaron 70-300 from Jessops for £399 with the £30 cash back.

So far i've been really pleased with it, though i will eventually change the 70-300 for one with VR built in.

Some taken on Friday which was pretty cloudy.

I ordered yesterday in the end. Went for the d3200 with vr2 lens at £310 (£30 cashback) Got a 32gb sd and carry bag. You pictures require approval to be able to see. I just need a tripod now right?

Wow they all look great! Ill check them vids out asap. Is that a free service form google like the google music service?

It's free for 15gb i think then you need to pay, normally i would use Flickr as you get 1tb for free, but i was being lazy and didnt want to convert RAW files to Jpeg.
