Hi i am looking to buy new speakers.

Ones that dont crackle and pop with the Xfi Music creative sound card and that are 5.1 or 7.1

I have logitech X-530 5.1 speaker system 5 speakers (front left right, back left and right, centre and subwofer) and windows xp.

So i am looking for somethign in the same setup. Silver/Black/Navy will do

any one got any help.

i did fancy these but been discontinued by a lot of places Altec Lansing 5100 6pc 5.1 Speaker System.

Thanks

TBH that's not gonna get you something substantially better than the X530, but at least you may get something that doesn't crackle and pop (although my X530 only popped when the lights were switched on/off).

I've seen the Altec Lansing 5100 for £80 delivered and in stock, if you like the look of those. They get decent reviews (as do the X530) but they're still very much in the budget 5.1 sector. At least they look nicer than the X530.

was looking at

Creative Inspire T6060
Altec Lansing 5100
Creative Inspire P5800
Creative Inspire P7800 7.1 Speaker

and if i can get a deal on

Creative Z5500 or z5500
Logitech Z-5400 Digital 5.1 Speaker System
Creative Inspire T7900

Any one have these or recommend any of these, what sound cards do you have.

If you can stretch to the Creative GigaWorks 5.1 G550W or the Logitech Z-5400 I'm sure they would be a much better investment and a real jump in quality and power from the X530. The cheaper Creative Inspire sets you list are generally regarded to be pretty poor since they're made by Creative themselves rather than Cambridge Soundworks who make the Gigaworks/Megaworks lines for Creative.

Btw, lots of people get popping sounds with X530, but I haven't heard of anyone getting crackling before. That might be the X-Fi and nothing to do with the speakers, so you might not fix it by changing speakers. I have heard of an X-Fi crackling problem on high-end systems which it might be worth googling.

Can't say because of forum rules banning competitor talk. I can e-mail it though. They're based in Jersey and their name rhymes with 'hey' if that helps :D

You may need to manually update the drivers for the following devices.
Windows Vista drivers for these devices exist, but they require you to install them.

Network Adapters - DWL-G520M Wireless 108G MIMO PCI Adapter D-Link -Get driver from Microsoft Update
Imaging Devices - Creative WebCam Instant #3 Creative Labs - Get driver from Microsoft Update

Category, Model, Manufacturer and Action Required

Windows Vista drivers may not exist for the devices listed below.
You may experience some loss of functionality with these devices after installing Windows Vista. If so, you should contact the device manufacturer to install a more recent device driver after you upgrade to Windows Vista.

System Devices - AMD Special Tools Driver - Advanced Micro Devices -Contact the manufacturer
Sound, Video and Game controllers - ATI T200 Unified AVStream Driver - ATI Technologies - Contact the manufacturer

Creative X-Fi Audio Processor (WDM) - Creative Technology, Ltd. - Contact the manufacturer.

Category, Model, Manufacturer and Action Required

Drivers for these devices will be installed automatically.
Some drivers will be installed as part of the Windows Vista installation. Others will be automatically updated as long as you have Windows Update enabled.

Display adapters - RADEON X850 Series - ATI Technologies Inc. - No action required
RADEON X850 Series - Secondary - ATI Technologies Inc. - No action required
Hard Disk Controllers - NVIDIA nForce3 250 Parallel ATA Controller (v2.6) - NVIDIA Corporation - No action required
Sound, Video and Game controllers - USB Audio Device (Generic USB Audio) -No action required

So it looks like i might be able to run vista but getting drivers for top three items may be a problem, sound card from creative and wilreless card, ati and amd.

But then they should release them in the future i hope
