Looking to buy sound card

Hey, I'm not sure on budget but something affordable. I was looking at a X-Fi but i'd like people's opinions.

I'm a gamer, and play almost 24 hours of the day. I also need a sound card as my onboard on the p5k-e microphone is just giving out static.

So ideas please.

i was just about to ask, what's the difference between the music version and the gamer version.

I think the gamer doesnt do hardware DD/DTS decoding nor have the connector for the breakout box if you ever decide to get it at a later date.

I've decided to go with a Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music, thanks for the help guys. Can anyone comment on this card if they have it before i hit the checkout button?

I also have a question, I went shopping around to look at prices and to compare, now normally i'd go with OcUK but i have money on the paypal that's sitting there and OcUK don't accept paypal so, i looked around and saw the Xtreme Music card, but a 4.1/5.1, I'm a idiot when it comes to sound cards, i normally stick with onboard but seen as the onboard has decided to go wrong this is it. So is there a difference between the other place i was looking at where it showed it put it in a 4.1/5.1 section, to the 7.1 on OcUK.
