hi i currently have the following fans in my case and it is noisy.....

1x 120mm alaska AK274CB (rated 17.5dBA) intake onto cpu cooler fan around 2 inch distance between the two so nice tunnel effect...
alaska evo blue cpu cooler 92mm fan rated at 69.4 cfm (44DBA) cant change this.(with out hassle lol)
1x 80mm alaska AK 170CB cooling GPU (rated 27.85dBA)
1x 80mm alaska AK 170CB extracting front side (rated 27.85dBA)
1x 120mm alaska AK274CB (rated 17.5dBA) extracting from front of case after air has passed through the cpu cooler.

i always have the fans running at full speed i believe as there controlled from the motherboard.

i would like to replace the fans to run quiter at high speed setting as it currently sounds like a jumbo jet starting up.

and case/ cpu temps at idle (running full scan with antivirus) are 39C mind you it is in the lounge which is quite warm.

any replacement recommendations?

replace them with sharkoon silent eagle golfball fans
they are nice and quiet and push quite a lot of air

not too expensive either

yate loons are good too

zalman's, of all sizes are literally the best ones about, value and stats. the push more airflow at any given sound level than really any other fans, they are stupidly cheap, available everywhere and every one comes with a resistor/cable so you can run them at 7v for midlevel air pushing and quieter performance, they also each come with 4 of the silicone type mounting clips which helps even more with killing case noise.

unless you need uber performance, which means loud, then theres not a huge amount of reason to go anything but zalman.

sharkoon
xilence red wing

get either of the above

i own multiple of both of them

i think i'll be only buying red wings from now on though, they seem better

Yate Loons or Scythe S-Flex 1200rpm, most of the others lie about their noise levels. Either of these fans will provide more than adequate cooling with low noise levels. Both are quieter than Arctic Cooling or Zalman.

We don't get the "good" yate loons in the UK, you can ONLY get them from one store in the US, again the Zalmans are quieter and push more air. THe S-flex 1600 is one of the best fans to get, but its 3 times more expensive than the Zalman, it will keep going further undervolted than the Zalman and will run at a very low cfm and sound volume right at the bottom end of the CFM scale where the Zalman can't get to, but the rest of the scale the Zalman is quieter for more airflow.

Keep in mind that Cathar, well respected waterblock maker for many a year, got the same results with the Zalman. Its easily the best fan on test, it comes with a resistor to run 7v without a fan controller or any effort, it also comes with 4 silicone mounting clips so its easily the cheapest on test aswell. The only fans that come close are the Petra Yate Loon's, the other Yate's aren't as good and the S-flex is great in the 22-24db bracket as most other fans simply don't undervolt that far, it still gives ok performance/cfm there too but does cost 3 times as much.

If you read all his reviews, which are about the only ones done with proper equipment around you'll see basically. S-flex for ultimate silence as they undervolt further than most, Zalman for performance/quiet then the Sanyo Denki Sun Ace for performance with less quiet, those are really the 3 fans that cover the entire range of cooling performance. Considering the Zalman's cost, the lack of availability of the Sun Ace in the UK and that most of us won't run a S-flex at 4v the Zalman is really the best choice all around.

Have you tried just turning some or all of them off? Most case fans are pointless quite frankly. One in, one out is all that's generally required. Your PC might run 10C hotter, but so what? It's only an issue if it becomes unstable, and I'm pretty certain it won't become unstable if you turn some of those case fans off.

I've had the Zalmans, replaced them with Arctic Cooling, replaced them with Scythe, replaced them with orange Yate Loons. Out of them all the Yates have performed the best in my system. I currently use the Yates as in/out fans and Scythes as GPU cooling strapped to an Accelero. I have two beasty Panaflo FBA12G12L fans strapped to my CPU cooler, undervolted and quiet as you like. Performance/noise the Panaflo beat all the others, but they are a bit larger too.

Maybe I was unlucky with my 120mm Zalmans but I found them to be too loud. The 92mm one I have is very quiet though.
