Looking to get BT Infinity but need a bit of info

Hi,

I am currently looking to move up to Fibre from normal ADSL. I can see that I need a BT Infinity Modem and a router. What I would like to know due to the location of the master phone socket and my desk in the flat is the cable between the modem and the router just a normal CAT 5/6 Ethernet Cable? As I would have the router on my desk and my pc connected via Ethernet.

Just a normal cat5/6 cable. Make your ow up longer if you want. I did with no problems.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Is the modem installed inside as some threads I have seen seem to say that BT turn up before the install date and install the modem on the outside of the house. But this may just be for the FTTP rather FTTC connecions.

Outside? No BT Infinity is inside the house FTTC...

Let them do what they need to do install wise then sort it out what you want after.
