Looking to get temps and noise down even further

Guys, my system (in sig below) is already reasonably quiet, but recently I have noticed that the CPU can get a little too toasty for my liking (42-44c) when doing simple tasks like browsing.

Now, I can easily drop the temp to 36c or thereabouts if I ramp my NF-P12 fan up to 12-1300rpm. Unfortunately this also takes the noise levels a little higher than I would like (I have sensitive hearing) as I normally run it at around 600rpm.

So, in the quest to run a little cooler but at no cost to noise levels I was wondering if it would be worth getting a Noctua NH-D14?

That way I reckon I could still run the fans nice and low, but maybe get a little better cooling.

What do you guys think? The only thing really putting me off is the £66 outlay!!

Oh btw, not interested in going watercooled, well not yet anyway.

EDIT - FWIW I have both 180mm fans running at around 600rpm and I have a front NF-P12, middle NF-P12 and rear NF-P12, all running at around 600rpm. The only exhaust fan is the rear NF-P12, as per the standard Fortress positive air pressure layout.

Tbh that's only a few pounds cheaper than I can find the Noctua, but thanks for the suggestion.

Not liking the idea of replacing the fans, as I doubt there is much, if anything on the market that is as quiet as the Noctuas running at 600rpm.

Perhaps I will strip everything down and reseat the cooler, this time with MX-4 or something and see if that helps at all.

Another option would be to lap the cpu and TRUE. It certainly helped to drop temps on the q6600 i had. But tbh, 44c isnt that bad, and as you say, a reseat with fresh paste may help as well.

Yeah, you're right, 44 is probably not worth worrying about - guess I've been looking at too many SB temp posts lately and thinking I need to keep up!!:D Oh and the TRUE is lapped - was the 1st thing I did when I got it.

You want to get a better HSF because your chip gets to 44 when browsing the web...?

Yeah, I know - I now realise I am probably worrying about nothing.
