Hey All

As the title states, I am looking to go eyefinity with a 3 monitor set up!

At the moment I have this monitor

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-067-IY&tool=3

I have a total of £500 worth of vouchers to spend, unfortunately not for OC though!

Would I be best to buy 2 others of the same model, or go for the best two I can but for the price?

I currently game 1920 x 1080 so I would expect the other two to have the same resolution, is that right?

Thanks

If I were you, I'd get 3 the same. However, that monitor has no display port input (at least one of which is required for eyefinity) so you would have to get an (active?) DP>DVI adaptor. Another thing to consider is your gfx card/s, that large a resolution is going to need some serious gfx firepower if you want to play games with high settings, what is you current card?

Are you planning on spending the £500 on monitors in addition to the £320 in your other thread for a motherboard and second HD 6950?

I imagine eyefinty will look best with 3 identical monitors.

And you will need an active miniDP to DVI adapter like this:

XFX Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D Active Single-Link Adapter

Or an active full size DP to DVI adapter depending on what other card you get and which one you connect to.

Or if you can find a Sapphire FLEX card then they can run 3 DVI monitors out of the box.

It's best to have 3 of the same monitors, first time I had eyefinity I had 3 different monitors and the colour difference was off putting tbh (even with tweaking) plus there's stand height and bezel difference to take into account.

Thanks for the reply guys.

The £500 can be spent on monitors. I have a budget of around £320 to upgrade my system.

Would it be better to maybe buy 3 better monitors with thinner bezels for my 500, then use the money from the sale of my monitor and maybe sell my 6950 and buy a 7970?

Would that card be able to run bf3 in at least med to high across 3 monitors?

Appreciate the help guys.

i would recomend led monitors due to less heat and power usage, cant say about bf3 as i dont own it but a 7970 does a pretty good job of playings games at 5760x1080
