Right currently i have

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego (Socket 939)
Standard heatsink and fan
2 X Hitachi 160gb sata drives
2 gb DDR1
Gigabyte nforce mobo
Lian Li V2000 case
Antec psu (forget the model)
Geforce 7800 gtx

It's for gaming at 1280 X 1024 and surfing

I need to move out of the spare room and into the dining room so I'm looking for a sff quiet pc, are any of the above components worth keeping or am I better starting from scratch.

Any input welcome

Thanks

Whats your budget and are u looking to upgrade or are you happy with current performance ?
U could keep most of those components and just buy a matx case and mobo.

Silverstone cases are pretty much the best Matx cases about at the min, think the sugo's cost around £70 & 40-50 for a Matx mobo.
Depending on Budget u could get a new cpu cooler and a modular psu is well worth getting if going the matx route.

Or even easier just get a shuttle Barebone system.

The sugo evo looks quite nice, would my psu fit in it? it's an antec modular psu about 550 watts.

I'm reasonably happy with the performance of my current system, but if I'm looking at new mobo and memory, I might be tempted to go for a new cpu aswell.

sugo is my recommendation (I have one :))

standard atx psu fits. I would also recommend the nt06 cpu cooler if the psu has a 120mm fan - nice and quiet - cools good too :)

Pretty certaint he 7800gtx fits but it might be worth checking, is it longer than the 9.6" (iirc thats the size of a matx board)?

Psu will fit , u could use your current memory.

Would I want the one with the fan or without

Cheers

With the sugo evo, can you get drive covers to stealth the 5.25 drives like Lian Li supply?

you want the nt06 lite (no fan) unless you have use of the 120mm fan obviously. No lian li type bezels although the blanks can easily be modded in a similar way to akasa eclipse ones.

For you current spec to work all you would need is a matx board that supports the cpu and ram etc, I'm using asus a8n-vm csm in my sugo and its an alright board for the money (sub £50 now iirc).

Ok might have a change of plan after seeing the Zalman HD160 Home Theatre PC Enclosure.

Has anyone got one?, I've had a surf and there's not much in the way of reviews for them.
Basically I'd like to know if it will be quieter than the sugo and wether my graphics card will fit.

Cheers Faz

edit and which cpu cooler, the one previously mentioned or a zalman

Haven't heard of the Zalman one.... You could always look at a Shuttle SN25P or something, pretty small machines and run well (personal experience talking).

If you look at going this way I know someone whole has one for sale... hehe
