With regards to streaming around the house I would recommend Plex media server as the place to put all your files. If your smart TV can run plex then it gives a great interface and is really intuitive to putting the files in the correct place. Samsung TV's have the ability to install Plex.

It's Samsung TV's that I have. I take it you use it with Linux?

Could I just double check, if I had to switch to Windows 8.1 then this setup could run the 64 bit version with no issues?

Does the OEM version of the Celeron G1610 come with a cooler? If not, would a stock cooler from a Haswell 4670k fit it?

I've had this order delivered, but I won't be home until next Monday so not sure if I need to order a cooler too.

Plex is available on Linux if that's what you're after. I can confirm that Plex on Samsung TVs is very good.
