Looking to upgrade 2x5870's for Eyefinity 3

Hi All,

I bought a couple of 5870s a while ago now to play Battlfield 2 on Eyefinity. They were fine on high settings powering 3 screens at a 5070x1050 resolution (or something close, I forget...). I'm looking to upgrade them for Battlefield 4 as they run sluggishly on medium settings across all 3 with BF3.

I'm hoping to get £300 for the pair off a friend, so I'm looking to spend about £400-£500 in total on a new pair, or even a single card if you can get away with that these days!

I would like to run 3 monitors in Eyefinity for gaming, but like to run 4 monitors on an extended desktop for day use for work (3x[1680x1050] + 1x[1280x1024]). Nothing GPU strenuous like 3D Modelling. The most stress they will get is BF4. I'm not looking to run games in extreme across an eyefinity setup but it would be nice

I thought I'd post here to see if anyone has any recommendations as its been a while since I bought anything so I'm not up to speed with the latest & greatest.

Old cards: ATI Radeon 5870, 1GB GDDR5.

Cheers.

Feel sorry for your friend paying 300 quid for your two 5870's, for shame. He should just buy a single brand new 7970.
Te-Te-Teesider!

At 500 quid, 2 7950's would be perfect.

I run 6000x1200, ok a bit more than your res, but a single card is not enough. I could just about play on medium settings. With 2x7950's its ultra all the way.
