As the title says i am looking to update my outdated system. Havnt looked at my system for a while as the motherboard packed in a couple years ago and never got round to fixing it. Im Looking for a good motherboard, Ram and Intel Cpu Im Keeping my graphics cards as i just dont want to be out a lot of money.

I am looking a good game bundle, the components I am looking are as fallow end:
Motherboard
Intel Cpu
Ram
They are the only components that I am looking, nothing to extreme that will overwhelm my 4 year old gpu's which are Msi Gtx 580 lightning extrem cards

Budget £500-£600

Thx for looking

Hey thanks for the reply, didn't think anyone was gonna comment. What would you recommend yourself for the mobo,CPU and ram? Or is the a bundle on overclockers worth getting? Thx again

The overclockers bundles are great all depends on what you want to spend, you may fancy a diffrent motherboard for example. There are so many to choose from but heres a starting point , gone for 16gb of ram.

You will need a cpu cooler for the k chip

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £361.47
(includes shipping: £10.50)

Honestly, I would suggest something along the lines of:

MSI Z97 PC MATE (for SLI options later, not because you need a K CPU)
i5 4460
GTX 1070

It'll come in on budget. You can then sell your (nearly useless in 2016) 580s. 1 1070 is equivalent to about five way 580 SLI if there were such a thing.

i5 4460
MSI Z97 PC Mate
GTX 1070
2X8GB DDR3 2133
(if any money left over, 120GB SSD for OS. Keep your HDD(s))

Why?
Nobody NEEDS a K CPU. It does add inches below the belt to your ego but you don't NEED it for gaming.

Any 3Ghz+ 4th gen+ Intel i5 has the IPC to handle any game on any card without bottlenecking

Your 580s have reached the end of their useful life. Even with SLI, the crummy memory bus and small RAM buffers (You probably have the 1.5GB cards) and the general sluggish performance just don't cut it any more. Sell them.

1 1070 is equivalent to 5 or 6 way 580 SLI if there were such a thing.

Put the money where you will FEEL it. Everything else just needs to be "good enough". SSD. GPU.

I built a guy a computer the other day. He wanted an i7 with 16GB of RAM to play online casinos, facebook, and some HTML golf game. I tried to talk him down to an i3 with 8GB of RAM but he wasn't happy with that. We settled on an i5 4460, 16GB of RAM, and a 480GB SSD. So much more than he needs.

Most people out there would honestly be fine with a Celeron or Pentium. People don't realize how powerful modern CPUs are. Very powerful, very efficient.

If the OP really did want to SLI this would not be a sound recommendation.

The MSI Z97 PC Mate does not do SLI, only CrossFire, and the post above erroneously recommends an Nvidia card for SLI options later.
